How to play Minesweeper
Click a square to uncover it. Your first click is always safe. A revealed number tells you how many mines touch that square (including diagonals); a blank square has no mines nearby and automatically opens its neighbours. Use those numbers to work out which squares are safe and which hide a mine. Flag the squares you think are mines, and reveal everything else to win — but click a mine and it's game over.
Tips
- Start in the open areas — big blank regions clear lots of the board at once.
- A "1" touching exactly one unopened square means that square is definitely a mine — flag it.
- When the count of nearby flags equals a square's number, the rest of its neighbours are safe.
