How to play Word Guess
Guess the hidden word in six tries. After each guess, the tiles change colour: green means the letter is correct and in the right place, amber means the letter is in the word but in a different spot, and grey means the letter isn't in the word at all. Guesses must be real words in the list.
Make it your own
- Choose your length — switch between 4, 5, 6 and 7 letters. Shorter words are quick; seven-letter words are a real challenge in six guesses.
- Hard mode — once on, every clue you've revealed must be reused: green letters stay locked in place and amber letters must appear somewhere in your next guess.
- Build a streak — your consecutive-win streak is tracked on this device; one loss resets it. Play as many rounds as you like with the New Word button.
Tips
- Open with a word rich in common letters (vowels plus R, S, T, N) to reveal a lot at once.
- Use the on-screen keyboard colours to track which letters are still possible.
